God's Goodness
As much as we all know, earth has been hit by the pandemic of Corona Virus. This started in 2019 and got worse in 2020. Little did we know that the world would be hit by a second variant of the same in the following year. Thousands of people across the world have died of the same disease, but you, who is reading this has life. It is all because of God's goodness upon every living soul.
The goodness of God is peculiar and there's just something special and amazing about it that Christians enjoy. This enjoyment refers not only to God's goodness in general that he shows to all people like making His sun rise and the rains fall on both the evil and the good ones (Matthew 4:45), but also a peculiar goodness for those who fear Him, Christians. Those who have been saved by His grace through His son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
The goodness of God is so sufficient, abundant, beyond all measure. It is boundless and ceaseless. It is all catering. The peculiar goodness is for all those who fear Him. Those who have recognized His sovereignty, and are saved by His grace through His Son. It touches everyone regardless of their background, ethnicity or nationality. This is so because He is universally good.
John Piper comments in one of his articles about God's goodness. He says: "it is God's goodness which sustains us. It is that which keeps us. It that which even provides us with every need". This sheds more light on the fact that He is good regardless of someone's background, gender, ethnicity or nationality.
God is tender hearted and of quick sympathy towards all mortal beings. God is good on every single person living. A.W Tozer comments on the goodness of God in one of his books. He say: “the goodness of God is that which disposes Him to be kind, cordial, benevolent and full of good will towards mankind”. This basically implies that, His goodness is universal. The good and the bad ones, all do get to experience the universality of His goodness.
You're reading this now because He has been good to you by keeping you safe even in the midst of the pandemic. Think about the number of people that have died and those that have been admitted. Not that you're smarter, or that you've undertaken every precautionary measure but the goodness of God is that which sustains you and I.
It is this attribute of God that gives us hope. That which helps us to hold on to the faith we've been called to. It is the same attribute that enabled God to offer His son to the world that mankind would be redeemed and find salvation. This attribute allowed the restoration of God's relationship with man to take place.
How many times have you wondered, pondered and thought through this attribute of God?
Would you testify to His goodness? Would you say He's been good to you?
Think about it.
I hope this post will help to reflect on this attribute.
Thank you for reading up to this end.
Stay blessed. Until next time๐ค๐พ
