Life is like Mist

2020 has been characterized by reasons for fear, anxiety and depression for all. The Covid-19 pandemic coupled with horrific accidents, catastrophic disasters, homicides, wars and more as we can see on TVs and other media platforms have given us an explicit glimpse that life is short and that at any time one can face death.

 And so, in this post, I wish to draw your attention to a phrase "Life's a Mist."
The statement got me thinking about how short our lives are. How we shockingly and surprisingly lose people who were close to us and who were just with us moments ago.
The mysterious reality about death has brought so many questions. Questions that humans cannot fully answer, let alone, understand.

Let me drive you to some thoughts in form of questions;
 Do you know that this life we possess is not our own? Do you know that this life is in the hand of Him who made it? Do you know that this life is in the hand of Him who is all-powerful and sovereign? Do you know that if He so pleased He can simply end it today? This is a fundamental truth. Our lives are nothing but like a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. That is why we are here now and not tomorrow. JC Ryle puts it in one of his books and says, "Our lives are like a story that is soon told. We have to remember that our time is short". This, really, tell and remind us that we will one day be no more. Even when we feel so energetic and all, the fact remains the same. Thus we have to remember that after we die, we're all entitled to spend our eternity on either of the sides (heaven or hell).

Have you ever thought about where you will spend your eternity?

What is the condition of your soul?

 Has your soul been fully preserved in the hands of Him who made it? The Bible clearly says that everything we see including our lives were made through Jesus Christ (Col 1:16-17). The Bible records that Adam fell when he committed sin by the disobeying the living God. Thereafter, the entire humanity fell (1 Cor 15:21-22). However, the good news is that, God in His sovereignty gave His Son as the perfect sacrifice to take away the sins of whoever believes in Him, not perishing but having eternal life. And this is the good news. The news of Hope. The news of our salvation. The news of our amazing eternity. Let's check ourselves to see if really our souls are preserved in the hands of him who made them.

Pause and question yourself: if I were to die today, which side of eternity will I find myself on?
Have you truly been saved? Has your soul been fully preserved?

Thank you for reading up to this end. Until next time ✌🏽
God bless!

  8. It's really a great "wake up" call. Indeed life is in God's hands.God created us to praise Him and also to bring many to HIS kingdom. Let's work up, give praise to the Lord and win souls before our little time ends.
